SS Rajamouli's Naan Ee does record collection in TN

SS Rajamouli has broken his own record at Tamil Box Office with his latest movie Naan Ee, the Tamil version of Eega. The Sudeep starrer movie has collected more than Rs 18 crores in its third week, thereby breaking the records of Maaveeran, the dubbed version of Magadheera.

Reports say that Naan Ee has collected Rs 18.22 crore in three weeks. This is the highest ever collection for a dubbed Tamil movie. Despite facing a tough competition from Billa 2 in the second and third weeks, the movie has managed to make wonderful business, as it is still rocking at 185 screens in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, the Telugu version of Naan Ee has done an earth-shattering collection not only in domestic Box Office but also at international Box Office. It has raked in above Rs 50 crores in two versions. Naan Ee starring Sudeep, Samantha and Nani is a techno-graphical extravaganza directed by SS Rajamouli. It is the story of a fly seeking revenge against a man.

Ajith impressed by Rajamouli's Naan Ee (Eega)

SS Rajamouli's Naan Ee, the Tamil version of Telugu flick Eega, has become one of the biggest hits of South India. It is no surprise that the movie has not only garnered good words from audience and critics, but also from big names of film industry. After Rajinikanth, Shankar, Vikram and Surya, now Ajith Kumar has praised the Sudeep starrer movie.

If reports are to be believed, Ajith Kumar, whose recent movie Billa 2 is doing good business at the Box Office, reportedly watched SS Rajamouli's socio-fantasy movie Naan Ee and was impressed by the making. The actor has also praised the filmmaker for his wonderful film and also he said good words about Sudeep, whose performance has been praised to heavens by the critics.

The other big names to praise the movie are: Mahesh Babu, Karthi, Ram Gopal Varma, Ravichandran, Prakash Raj, Lingusamy, Puri Jagannath, Dhanush, Siddharth, Venkatesh, VV Vinayak, Dasari Narayana Rao, Chiranjeevi, Rana Daggubati and others.

Will Billa 2 slow down Eega (Naan Ee) collection at Box Office?

Billa 2 is all set to have a solo release with no Tamil straight movie posing a threat to its opening week collection at the Box Office. But the only movie, which can slow down the collection of the Ajith Kumar starrer movie is SS Rajamouli's last week release Naan Ee, the Tamil version of Eega that has done good business in the first few days.

The Ajith Kumar's movie is releasing worldwide tomorrow (July 13) on 1,200 plus screens in multiple languages including in Telugu as David Billa. The excellent pre-talk suggests that it could definitely overpower Sudeep starrer Naan Ee, which does not have any well-known Tamil star in the movie. Being a straight film, Billa 2 is expected to make one of the highest collections of the year in the first weekend.

In the opening weekend, Naan Ee not only did good business in Chennai but also in the US and other countries. It received overwhelming response from the multiplex audience. Nonetheless, it is believed that it could not face the competition of the Ajith Kumar's movie, says trade circle. However, the collection of SS Rajamouli film could be better in the next week if the Ajith's film fails to impress the audience.

Billa 2, a prequel to Billa, is a gangster film, which also features Parvathy Omanakuttan and Bruna Abdullah in the leads. The movie tells the story of David Billa's transformation from an ordinary man to underworld kingpin. On the other end, Naan Ee is a socio-fantasy film starring Sudeep, Nani and Samantha. It is the story of a fly, which seeks revenge on the villain in its reincarnated form.
