Venkat Prabhu had worked as an associate director to Lingusamy in the movie Ji. Sometimes it works out and most of the times it don't ."

Asking counter questions to the netizens, he wrote, "Everything that matters to u is whether a movie is a hit or not!! If u guys are good audience why didn't u make Thanga Meengal a hit!!!?!???????? U can only troll us!! But what if we trolled u?!?! We make the movies for u!! We agree but why don't u make a good film a hit?!?"

He concluded, "Lingusamy Saar is a great film maker!! I worked with him in Ji!!! Every creators are not god!! Even god made mistakes in his creations!! So who are we to judge!! "

Dharani to remake Agni Natchathiram with Vikram Prabhu, Gautham Karthik

No it is not going to be Mani Ratnam who will be remaking his own super hit film Agni Natchathiram but director Dharani, who will be remaking it with Vikram Prabhu (Prabhu's son), who is making his grand debut in Prabhu Solomon's Kumki and also with Karthik's son Gautham Karthik who is making his debut in Mani's Kadal.

The original had Prabhu & Karthik playing rival step brothers who fight and reunite at the climax, which was a super-hit in the 80's.

A source says, “The film is much-loved by all Tamil cinema fans. So, if anyone would do justice to the roles done by Prabhu and Karthik, it is their children.”

The film is to be produced by the makers of Osthe to be directed by Dharani, who has plans of making it in Tamil as well as Telugu.

Producer Ramesh told media, “Talks are on with Dharani to direct the project. Both Vikram Prabhu and Gautham Karthik have evinced a lot of interest in this film as they will be stepping into their father’s shoes.”

The Agni Natchathiram remake will Kick-start only in December as the makers would like Mani Ratnam’s Kadal to hit screens before they embark on their project.

A spokesperson from Vikram Prabhu's side informs, “Yes, producer Ramesh has been toying with this and also got in touch with us regarding this. We have asked him for a clear picture on the rights of the film so that we can decide.”

Gautham Menon-Vijay's Yohan put on the back burner!

Gautham Menon's mega-budget films Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru seems to be put on the back burner. The filmmaker and the actor have reportedly decided to work on different projects before teaming up for the first time.
Grapevine has it that Gautham Menon, who is currently busy with Neethaane En Ponvasantham, is likely to start Surya's long-awaited Thuppariyum Anandhan, a detective-thriller, soon after the completion of Jeeva-Samantha starrer movie. On the other end, Vijay is currently filming AR Murugadoss' Thuppakki and he is expected to start his next with AL Vijay. However, the reason for the unexpected-delay of Yohan is yet to be revealed.

Earlier, the makers of Yohan has claimed that the movie was the first of its kind (in South India) action thriller centring around a character that will be featured in a series of films (prequels and sequels). The film will be shot in international locations, predominantly in the United Kingdom with the active support of UK government.

On the other end, Vijay had said "I am very excited about this project. Gautham and I have been talking about working together for a while and I'm glad that it"s finally materialized. Yohan is a totally new space for me and I'm sure my fans will love this action-thriller film. I am also excited about working with Photon Kathaas and Eros and am sure we will together create a landmark South Indian film."

Simbu-Nayantara friends again!

Silambarasan and Nayantara, the one time love birds, seem to have buried the hatchet! After seeing for couple of years, they parted ways for some reasons. Later, the actress found love in Prabhu Deva, who broke up with him earlier this year. However, Simbu and Nayan have started bonding again.

Trisha-Tamanna to perform at Surya's Maatraan audio launch

The makers of Maatraan seem to be leaving no stone unturned to make the audio launch of the film a talk of the town. They are doing their best to add glitz and glamour to the music release function. They are trying to rope some of the top South actresses, who have paired up with Surya in his earlier films, to perform at the event.

If reports are to be believed, Trisha Krishnan, Tamanna Bhatia, Asin Thottumkal, Sameera Reddy, Divya Spanadana aka Ramya, and Shruti Hassan have approached to perform at the Maatraan audio launch event. But it is not sure who else will be present to add glamour at the event. Adding to that Kajal Aggarwal, Isha Sharvani and two Russians girls named Irina and Julia, who have worked in Maatraan, will be gracing the function along with other cast and crew.

It is also said that music director Harris Jayaraj will treat the guests by composing 12 tracks of his hit movies. The audio of Maatraan will be launched on August 9 in Singapore.

Sundarapandian is an upcoming Indian Tamil film directed by by debutant Prabhakaran, a former associate of M. Sasikumar. Sasikumar himself is playing the lead role in this movie, which will have Vijay Sethupathi and Soori among others in pivotal characters. The film will have Lakshmi Menon, who is currently acting in Kumki, as the leading lady. Music is by N. R. Raghunanthan, while cinematography by Premkumar of Pasanga fame.

Actress Shriya dances at Mysore palace

Shriya delivered a brilliant classical dance performance at the Mysore place recently. No, this is not part of any cultural programme that took place inside the magnificent edifice, but for her forthcoming flick 'Chandra'.

The Tamil-Kannada bilingual directed by Roopa features Shriya as the last generation princess. A romantic love story, the script 'Chandra' had space for a classical dance number.

"Since Shriya is a trained dancer, we wanted to utilize her talent. Her dance performance will be one of the highlights of Chandra," says the director, throwing light on the 'jugalbandi' song. With Ganesh Venkatraman in the lead role, 'Chandra' has Vivek, Vijayakumar and Prem in pivotal roles. Plans are on to shoot some important portions in the United States.

Simbu throws a special birthday party to Dhanush

Dhanush turned 29 on Saturday (July 28) and he celebrated the special day with his friends in Kollywood. A surprise birthday was planned for the 'Kolaveri di' hitmaker by Silambarasan, whose friendship with the former has grown by leaps and bounds in the recent months.

Silambarasan made Dhanush cut a chicken-shaped cake considering the National Award winning performance of the son-in-law of superstar Rajinikanth in Aadukalam. Sharing his excitement, the actor tweeted, "I thank Simbu for throwing such a nice party. It was a surprise party and I had a good time."

Dhanush was bombarded with birthday wishes by his fans on Twitter. Anushka's not causing trouble for Alex Pandian!

Gorgeous Anushka Shetty was blamed by a section of media for delaying Alex Pandian shoots. It was said that the actress, who was supposed to join the shooting of Karthi starrer movie, was in Georgia, filming her next movie Irandaam Ulagam. However, director Suraj has denied that she is the reason behind the delay.

The director has said that Anushka has finished the major part of her portions. In fact, she has wrapped up 60 days of shoot and the actress has 10-day schedule to complete her entire portions including the climax scene. Anushka Shetty has told Suraj that she would take part in the shoots once she returns from Georgia.

Suraj further adds that there is no complaint against the actress and he is currently busy with the portions of Santhanam and Karthi. The movie bosses want to finish the shooting of the film at the earliest, as Alex Pandian is gearing up to release on October 12. The movie also stars Nikita Thukral, Milind Soman, Suman, and others.

This might be the craziest news for all the fans of World Wrestling Entertainment. Two of its most loved stars John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin might soon be seen in a Tamil movie!

The two superstars are said to be in talks with the team of Aascar Ravichandran's Boologam, which stars Jayam Ravi and Trisha in the lead. It is said that the two wrestling stars will be required for a scene where they will fight against Jayam Ravi.

Meanwhile, we do know that Jayam Ravi is playing a boxer in the film and has already undergone training in boxing for many months in preparation for the film. The question now remains on how the two wrestlers will fit into a film that is about boxing.

But, this is not the first time that WWE stars have been seen in an Indian film. People like Crush and Undertaker have been part of Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, which starred Akshay Kumar. Jeeva's movies to be boycotted

As Jeeva is gearing up for his biggest movie - Mugamoodi, there comes trouble in his way. Well, the nightmares of his earlier flop movies seem to have emerged, which could create unnecessary controversy. The buzz is that a section of exhibitors have decided to boycott his movies, as his father has not paid the dues for some theatre owners in Tamil Nadu.

Reports say that Jeeva's father and producer RB Choudary's recent movies like Ragalai, the dubbed version of Ram Charan Teja's Racha, and Rowthiram starring his son and Shriya Saran did not live up to the expectations. As a result, the producer had promised some exhibitors of paying about Rs 65 lakhs but have not kept his word till date.

Now, they have decided to boycott his son Jeeva's movies, thereby expressing their anguish on the producer. The actor's next release is Mugamoodi followed by Gautham Menon's Neethaane En Ponvasantham. However, RB Choudary has rubbished the reports and said that he has not promised anybody of paying Rs 65 lakhs.

Arya and Anushka get naughty on sets!

The Director is busy shooting for Irandaam Ulagam in Georgia with Arya and Anushka. And it looks like Selvaraghavan is impressed with his hero and heroine. He took to the social networking site to state that both the actors were extremely talented, motivated and full of energy.

For his movie, both Arya and Anushka need to know martial arts and apparently they both have their own trainers and are learning the art.

Meanwhile, the unit seems to be having fun in Georgia. Selva said that they were shooting in a river and both Arya and Anushka were in it. And they didn’t want to be the only ones drenched in the water. They apparently dragged the whole unit in and the team had a blast.

Billa 2 Kerala distributor suffers heart attack

The negative word-of-mouth for Billa 2 seems to have affected one of the distributors' health. Well, the distributor of the Kerala region has reportedly suffered a heart attack after hearing bad reviews for the recently released Ajith Kumar starrer movie.

If reports are to be believed, Billa 2 Kerala theatricals were sold for a record price. It was said the rights were sold for Rs 1.50 crore, the highest ever for an Ajith film. However, the first day response seems to have shocked him and he reportedly feared a huge loss.

Later on Satuday, he suffered the heart attack and soon he was admitted to a nearby hospital. However, the collection of Billa 2 in Kerala is yet to be revealed.

Meanwhile, despite getting thumbs down from critics, Billa 2 has done rocking business in the first weekend. In Tamil Nadu alone, it has raked in around 19 crore in the opening weekend.
